Who can join?

The Stockholm Student Investment Fund is open to all students at the Stockholm School of Economics, regardless of program, academic background, or prior experience. Whether you're studying finance, economics, retail management, or something entirely different, and whether you're deeply familiar with investing or just want to explore the topic, you're welcome to apply. What matters most is a genuine interest in learning and a drive to be part of a collaborative, student-run initiative.

SSIF was THE most applied to SASSE engagement in 2024, showcasing its strong appeal among students.

Recruitment

Recruitment within SSIF is structured to ensure continuity, leadership development, and accessibility for all students. It takes place in two primary phases: leadership recruitment at the end of the academic year, and analyst recruitment at the start of each semester.

Leadership Recruitment

Toward the end of the academic year (spring term), the incoming President is selected first by the outgoing leadership. Once appointed, the President forms the new Executive Committee by recruiting members to all roles within the team.

Once appointed as part of the Executive Committee, the Heads of Fund, who oversee the Investment Committee, take responsibility for recruiting Sector Heads. These roles are central to the Investment Committee and ensure that each sector is led by students with strong analytical and leadership capabilities.

For roles within the leadership team, greater emphasis is placed on competence and relevant knowledge, based on the scope and requirements of each position.

Analyst Recruitment

Analyst recruitment takes place at the beginning of each semester and is open to all SSE students, regardless of academic background or prior financial experience. SSIF emphasizes potential, intellectual curiosity, and engagement over formal qualifications.

The main intake occurs during the fall semester, when approximately 50–60 analysts are recruited. Sector Heads oversee the recruitment process, supported by the Executive Committee. A supplementary recruitment is often held at the start of the spring semester to fill vacancies caused by dropouts, dismissals, or evolving needs within the Fund.

This two-tiered recruitment model ensures that SSIF remains both professionally run and widely accessible, providing leadership opportunities for experienced members and entry points for new talent.
